BFC CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
We believe that children and youth are a vital part of our congregation and we
desire that they grow in God, relationships, and spiritual maturity. Although we
believe children should receive the majority of their spiritual development at home
(Deut. 6:4-9), many do not. Therefore we consider the little amount of time we have
each week with the children very valuable.
Currently, our lessons are being taken from the "PrayKids Magazine"
(www.praykids.com). We are exploring intimacy with God in topics of confession,
forgiveness, surrender, seeking God, etc. as well as learning about praying the
scriptures, prayerwalking, praying for the lost, fasting, etc.
There is no "set" lesson plan - each teacher asks God what to teach from the topic
given and how to teach it to the children. One topic is taught for two weeks by
different teachers. Because the topics are taught twice, the children retain
more. And because God uses each teacher differently, one children's church service
is never the same as the other.
We recommend children in grades 1-6 for this class, although this is flexible.
We welcome younger children who are mature enough to grasp the concepts and older
children who aren't quite ready for the Jr. High group.
Children who are not old enough for our Children's Church are welcome to participate
in our younger class. Miss Minnie, Miss Marcie and our Jr High volunteer Jessica,
they enjoy being with the young children and showing them God's
love. They provide books, videos and other teaching tools to encourage the children
to know God.
If you choose to visit, we desire both you and your children have an awesome time
experiencing God in our services!
